Who we are
This site is run by Karen Noon and Glen Noon, trading as Afrinoon Permaculture, based at 9 Bellevue, 56320 Priziac, Morbihan, Brittany, France. If you would like to reach us about your data, please email karen@afrinoonpermaculture.org.
What we collect, and why
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages people read, how visitors arrive, and which social channels are bringing people here. This helps us know which parts of the course are most useful to talk about, and where to focus our writing time.
We do not run advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not use third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics.
When you fill in our contact form, we collect only what you give us — your name, email address, and your message — so that Karen can reply. Contact-form submissions are not added to a marketing list.
Cookies and consent
On your first visit, a small banner asks whether you are happy for us to load Google Analytics. Until you choose, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics requests are sent — this is enforced through Google’s Consent Mode v2.
If you choose Decline, we keep a single record of that choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again, and Google Analytics never loads. If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) and records anonymised usage data.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser, which will trigger the banner on your next visit.
Where your data goes
Google Analytics is operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4) on behalf of its parent in the United States, Google LLC. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google has self-certified. IP addresses are anonymised at collection. We have configured the property to retain user-level data for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to erase it, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL — cnil.fr).
To exercise any of these rights, email karen@afrinoonpermaculture.org and we will respond within one month.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, prompt the cookie banner again so you can review your choice.
