Get in Touch

“Grace happens when we act with others on behalf of our world.” ― Joanna Macy

VOLUNTEERING AT AFRINOON PERMACULTURE

We have been hosting volunteers at Afrinoon Permaculture for the last three years.

Since settling here it is much harder to get away and travel, so we have opened up our doors to the outside world which in many ways is the next best thing. We often travel to learn about different ways of living, eating, seeing the world or learning a new language, so now all this can be brought into our home by our guests.

We passionately believe in sharing our knowledge and experience with as many interested people as we can. Most of our volunteers get in touch through Workaway.org or through the Permaculture Association, but we are happy to hear from you directly.

Volunteering is not only about us getting help with our various projects but it also involves cultural exchange and ideas sharing. There is always something to be learnt from another person, and always something we can teach in return.

We ask volunteers ask for a minimum of one week commitment, a 5 hour day and in exchange we provide food and comfortable accommodation.

If you want to get in touch with nature and enjoy the countryside, learn more about permaculture and animal keeping, and need some inspiration – contact us now!

“Karen and Glen were incredibly welcoming from the get-go. It was a wonderful experience, as we always knew what we should be doing. The work was educational, fun, and always a group effort- work-awayers and hosts alike.

Karen and Glen have a wealth of knowledge and are always willing to answer any and all questions. They always work with you, stick to the permaculture values, and provide awesome meals.

We shall certainly miss the family we were embraced into – animals included.
This was a wholesome WorkAway – our favourite one so far.” –
Natassia & Michael

“Karen and Glen are two genuine & kind persons. We had a wonderful 10-days stay in which we felt as a part of the family as well as a real team in the garden.

– Karen has a lot of knowledge in permaculture and you feel both her talents and her love in the garden.
– Glen is a very skilled man and explains concepts an processes in a very structured way which makes everything obvious.
– Both are very organised, and what we liked the most is their constant will and love to teach and transmit their knowledge and skills to us, even if they don’t need us to learn it as wwoofers.

Both accommodation (room & yurt) are tidy & comfy, and the animals are ALL funny and friendly.” Alice and Maxime
